Ready to build your longform skills?

Foundations of Longform is an 8-week course focused on building the skills that are the fundamentals behind longform. We’ll explore character and point of view, strong initiations, listening, relationships, finding patterns, editing, callbacks, game and heightening, group mind, and trust.

Through exercises, scene work, discussions, and side coaching, we’ll explore forms including Caravan, Monoscene, and Spokane. The goal isn’t simply to learn a few forms; it’s to use these skills to make strong choices, support your scene partners, and discover the show together.

A Class Built Around You!

We’ll have a general roadmap for the class, but the class is not set in stone. Before the class begins, students will complete a short questionnaire about their experience, confidence, interests, and the areas of improv they’d like to develop.

Your responses will help shape the class. Topics the group wants more practice with may receive additional time, while areas the group already feels comfortable with may move more quickly. This allows us to spend our time together on what will be most useful to the ensemble.

Whether you’re new to longform or looking to strengthen your existing skills, Foundations of Longform is an opportunity to practice, experiment, and build confidence in a supportive environment.
